One of the Top Free Sheet Music Databases on the Web Grows even Further

More sheet music continues to be added to the sheetor.com directory for visitors to access the resources quickly and easily.

USA, March 12th, 2010 - Sheetor.com continues to operate to serve various users that hope to find free sheet music on the Internet. By gathering data from other websites that offer sheet music, Sheetor.com grows exponentially each month. Older songs continue to exist in the database as well since the copyright protections of these old songs are lifted.

Not long ago, Sheetor.com reached a milestone with over 4,000 music sheets from hundreds of authors. This is reported to total over 2 gigabytes of space consisting mainly of PNG and PDF files. Site owner Joaquin De La Sierra has expressed interest to increase that number to 10,000 music sheets. In addition to Joaquin's personal contributions, Sheetor.com's success gives credit to other free sheet music websites as well as Sheetor.com visitors that submit links to other free sheet music lying around the web or upload their own sheet music as long as there are no copyright issues.

Sheetor.com is highly recognized by free sheet music seekers for its minimal interface with no signs of advertisements. Instead, the homepage presents a portal interface with several links leading to the different categories where the different sheet music is classified. These categories include songs, movies, games, classical, music, seasonal, and other popular sheet music. Two search boxes are located in the top and bottom respectively, with the top being powered by Google which allows visitors to do their own searching of free sheet music. The bottom search is an internal site search where people can search for the name of author with the option of choosing a category for more direct searches.

Four panels surround the page with two on each site for quick access to other important parts of the site. This includes the same links to the different categories being displayed on the center page along with the popular downloads, popular authors, and the newest sheets that have been released to the public domain. There is also a small navigation bar on top that contains a few links with a noticeable link that takes users to a listed of sheet music entries requested by other visitors. Although song requests are temporarily disabled, comments can still be posted for other viewers to see so that they can upload the sheet music themselves. With an upload form available on the site, users can upload new sheet music or provide extra sources to existing sheet music on the database for the convenience of others.

Other site features of Sheetor.com include an articles section where there are some useful pieces of information that focus on the very basics for reading sheet music along with some professional tips on piano playing. Other useful resources in obtaining free sheet music are available as well. Several popular songs are also accompanied with embedded links from YouTube that demonstrate other people playing the songs on the piano. Some artists also have a small biography for visitors to discover new artists or learn more about their favorites. The logs section found on the navigation bar can also be accessed to see searches conducted by other members to give other visitors an idea on what music sheets to upload to the site.

With a thriving community actively uploading free music sheets, Sheetor.com is expected to grow even further. Newer authors and sheet music will be posted on the site as soon as the copyright protections of these sheets expire. Any future updates to Sheetor.com will be posted on the blog.
