OneShare Health Announces Partnership With Shield of Faith Missions
Christian Health Share Unites with Veteran Non-Profit to Help Restore Purpose, Resiliency, and Life After Service
IRVING, Texas, September 23, 2020 (Newswire.com) - OneShare Health, an ACA-exempt Health Care Sharing Ministry and Christian non-profit, has just partnered with Shield of Faith Missions, a 501c(3) organization that provides assistance to U.S. veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
“Empowering warriors to find purpose and be resilient,” Shield of Faith (SOF) Missions was founded by Dr. Damon and Dayna Friedman; Dr. Friedman is a 20-year veteran and retired Lieutenant Colonel within the special operations community. SOF Missions exists to combat the veteran suicide crisis faced by countless men and women. Having served on four combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan, Dr. Friedman has brought home his duty to fulfill a higher calling.
The Resiliency Project, which is funded 100 percent by generous donors, is a holistic four-component program facilitated by a group of former military members and medical professionals known as “The Resiliency Project Selection Committee.” These individuals work together to select candidates who apply to receive a complete and free-of-charge treatment plan encompassing psychological, social, spiritual, and physical programs.
“These military personnel put their lives on the line for each of us,” said Victoria Damone, Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at OneShare Health. “I am sincerely looking forward to learning from Shield of Faith Missions as to how we, as a community of believers, can serve and help our Veterans afflicted with PTSD. I believe that it is a true blessing through faith and partnership that we can bring to light the resources SOF Missions has built.”
Through their national network of partners, civilian health care providers, and non-profit organizations like OneShare Health, SOF Missions continues to serve a population that is in dire need. Since 2016, they have served 82 veterans through the Resiliency Project; 60 groups have used their veteran resources, 2,200 veterans received connect care, and 100,000 people were present at over 80 speaking engagements across the country. In 2020, the organization aims to increase its impact five-fold, which will provide warriors with full-spectrum care across the nation.
“Our veterans have answered the call to protect us for a long time,” said CEO of OneShare Health Alex Cardona, “and now it is our turn to help and protect them after their service. Shield of Faith Missions is an essential organization that is giving voices back to those who feel they've been left behind. As a Christian, I feel called to help my brothers and sisters in need, especially the ones who’ve lost hope. As an American, I am honored to walk beside such an amazing organization and contribute to their cause.”
All contributions to SOF Missions go directly to support veteran programs. Anyone who is interested in learning more about this organization and how they can be of service to at-risk veterans is invited to visit OneShare Health’s Mission in Motion page or follow the Christian charity on social media.
