OnPoint Community Credit Union's Board of Directors Announces Retirements

Long-serving board members Fred Wong and Steve Gray contributed heavily to OnPoint's tremendous asset and membership growth over the years

OnPoint Community Credit Union's board of directors recently announced the retirement of two long-serving board members, Fred Wong and Steve Gray. The announcement was made during OnPoint's Annual Meeting on March 17, 2011 at the Montgomery Park building in Portland, Oregon.

Steve Gray served OnPoint for more than 22 years, most recently as Chairman of the Board. Prior to his election to the board of directors, Gray served on the Budget and Finance, Supervisory, Human Resources and Facilities Planning committees. His business and financial background, coupled with his organizational skills, contributed heavily to OnPoint's tremendous asset and membership growth over the years.

Fred Wong began his service to OnPoint's board of directors in 1971 and served on the Education, Facilities Planning, Human Resources, Nominating and Governmental Affairs committees. He received several designations and recognitions for his service and involvement in education and training programs, including the CUNA Mutual Group's Roy F. Bergengren Premier Award and Edward Filene awards. He took an active role in all matters related to governmental affairs, representing OnPoint in Washington D.C. at the annual Governmental Affairs Committee Conference and participating in Oregon's Credit Union Day at the Capitol events.

"OnPoint has been extremely fortunate to have had both Fred and Steve serve our credit union over the years. Their knowledge and unwavering commitment have contributed greatly to OnPoint's success and growth," said OnPoint's President and CEO Rob Stuart. "Our members and our Board join me in expressing our gratitude for the dedicated leadership that Steve and Fred have provided to OnPoint."
