Open Book Audio Launches Audiobook Distribution Service
Open Book Audio, a respected audiobook production company specializing in recording audiobooks for independent authors and small publishing houses, has launched a new audiobook distribution service complete with a brand new online store.
Online, October 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The audiobook distribution arm of Open Book Audio will serve as an intermediary between authors and publishing houses and major online audiobook retailers like iTunes and Audible. "The world of audiobook distribution is tough to navigate for the independent author or small publishing house," says Andrew Parker, President of Open Book Audio. "Most major audiobook retailers aren't interested in working with authors who only have one or two audiobooks to distribute. We aim to change that by bringing independent authors together and giving them the collective power they need to bring their audiobooks to a wider audience."
Open Book Audio will focus on a solely digital distribution model. Matt Armstrong, CEO of Open Book Audio states, "Audiobooks in a physical format such as CD or cassette tapes are simply too cost prohibitive for most independent authors and small publishing houses to create. What we want to do is offer a digitial distribution service that significantly reduces the cost to get an audiobook out to a wider audience and ultimately drives more exposure for our authors and their titles. Best of all, with the ubiquitous adoption of mp3 players and smartphones, digital distribution is the wave of the future and we want our authors to be a part of that."
In addition to serving as an intermediary between authors and retailers, Open Book Audio has also launched a completely revamped and redesigned online store at http://www.openbookaudio.com/store. Built on a rock solid e-commerce platform used by major retailers around the world, the Open Book Audio store will allow users to purchase and download all audiobooks in the Open Book Audio catalog in DRM-Free mp3 or m4b (iTunes Audiobook) formats. Long form samples of each book are also available for streaming from the website and samples of these audiobooks will be featured regularly during the popular Open Book Audio podcast series.
To inaugurate the new store, Open Book Audio has inked agreements to distribute two brand new audiobook titles, Financial Mistakes of New College Grads by Joe Templin (Unique Minds Consulting Group, LLC) and Radically Simple Accounting by Madeline Bailey (QC Computing, LLC). To purchase a copy of either title or to browse Open Book Audio's library of available audiobooks, visit the store at www.openbookaudio.com/store.
