Singer, activist, and Afghan TV talk show host, Mozhdah Jamalzadah will share her experiences as a refugee during Q&A segment of the Palm Springs 'Salam Neighbor' screening on February 1st.
Palm Springs, CA, January 26, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Inity Weekly will host the screening of ‘Salam Neighbor’, a film and campaign to connect the world to refugees. Joining the event for the Q&A segment will be singer, activist, and Afghan TV talk show host, Mozhdah Jamalzadah. Known for covering taboo topics such as child abuse, women’s dress, and divorce on the wildly successful “Mozhdah” show, the plug was pulled on the show in 2012 due to severe threats to Jamalzadah’s life. She returned to her adopted home in Vancouver, BC and has since been addressing societal and political ills through her music, and working on getting her show back on the air.
Jamalzadah was featured on CNN, The Oprah Show, Canadian Idol, and was also invited to sing at the White House for President Barack Obama. She will be sharing her experience as a refugee during the Q&A segment after the ‘Salam Neighbor’ film screening.
The screening will be held on Monday, February 1st at 6:30 p.m. at the Regal Palm Springs Stadium 9. Tickets are $13 and will be on sale until 2:00pm on February 1st.
