Orange & Bronze Software Labs Inc. Joins SpringOne 2GX
Online, October 19, 2009 (Newswire.com) - "Participating in this year's SpringOne 2GX was an inevitable decision for the company since it falls into our new more focused positioning of highlighting our technology expertise and credible experience in using Spring and Grails, among other frameworks." Orange & Bronze Chief Technology Officer Calen Legaspi said.
"Looking back at all the projects that Orange & Bronze has delivered, almost 100% of them used Spring, Grails, as well as Hibernate. We have even managed to convince clients who were not yet using these frameworks to include them in their systems." he added. Some of the key projects developed using Spring and Grails are a payroll system, cargo logistics system, and batch-processing for an established insurance company.
In this year too, Orange & Bronze was officially certified as SpringSource's first Philippine-based partner. The company's senior software architects, engineers, as well as Calen and Chief Technology Officer Butch Landingin have already been experts in Spring and Grails even before the company was incorporated.
"We actually started using Spring even before the company was founded and based from the benefits that we've been able to achieve in using the framework, we decided to incorporate it with our projects." Butch said. "By using Spring, we were able to deliver a robust set of systems and needed iterations have also become more manageable."
Butch also pointed out that since Grails has been a game-changer in the face of delivering software, the company also decided to include it among its technology expertise. "Although Grails is a fairly new technology, it does not have a steep learning curve and since O&B has always been experts in the Java platform we've managed to adapt it easily. Rapid development through Grails also allowed us to accomplish projects in just a few weeks instead of months." Butch explained.
