Oscar, Oscar, Read All About It...

Man, I have to tell you that I am soo excited this year for the Oscars. Way back at the beginning of 2010 I thought there was going to be nothing but garbage. Well, I'm man enough to admit that I was wrong. Dead wrong. I think that The Social Network should win Best Screenplay. You?

The Oscar buzz began to swarm the web Tuesday morning as the nominations were announced for the 2011 Academy Awards. There weren't many surprises this year as many of the Golden Globe winners kept their top positions with several nominations.

Topping the list is "The Kings Speech" with 12 nominations including "Best Picture" and "Best Original Screenplay." Actors Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter are contenders for "Best Actor" and "Best Supporting Actress." "True Grit," "Inception" and "The Social Network" also top the list.

The nominations for "Best Picture" come as no shock due to their popularity and high gross income for each. Other nominations rounding out the category are "The Kids Are All Right," "Toy Story 3," "Black Swan," "Inception," "The Fighter," "The Social Network," "127 Hours," "True Grit" and "Winter's Bone." This is only the third year when 10 movies have been nominated in this category. If the Golden Globes foreshadow anything, it's that "The Social Network" may do well here. The Facebook film cleaned the house out at the Golden Globes a few weeks ago with "Best Drama Film," "Best Director," "Best Original Score" and "Best Screenplay."
