The Sports Medicine Education Program will launch at the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year. Interested high school students will be accepted to the program, and will complete a variety of general and core classes relating to the science of the human body, along with a 30-week practicum in athletic training and conditioning.
Mr. Mike Naunton, Director of Athletics, said, “At Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we strive to provide students with a variety of ways to prepare for college and to find their niche in the school community. With our rigorous academic curriculum and our relationship with Johns Hopkins Sports Medicine, students in the program will be ready to enter the ever-expanding field of medicine.”
“We work very hard to provide every opportunity to our students. The Sports Medicine Education Program is a great example of that. Our students have expressed an interest, and we responded with this program,” said Chris Ashby, Upper School Principal.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is a Catholic, co-educational school that develops Pre-K through high school students into life-long learners who behave ethically, value the dignity of others, and work for social justice.
