Our Whole Community Hires Executive Director

Online, March 13, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Our Whole Community, Inc., is pleased to announce the hiring of Leah Nash as its Executive Director. With her background in marketing and communications in the fields of non-profit, associations, healthcare, media and government, the Our Whole Community, Inc., Board of Directors felt that Nash was the perfect fit.

"We are looking to expand our role in the community as a health resource," says Lavon Williams, Board President and a Deacon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Eatonville. "Faith-based organizations are the core of some people's lives and if we can assist these organizations in some way to promote healthy living, we would like to do that."

Our Whole Community, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit faith-based corporation comprised of a group of faith-based organizations collaborating on community health initiatives to produce intergenerational wholeness and healthy lifestyle outcomes in the Central Florida area.

Current member churches are First United Methodist Church, Winter Park; Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Eatonville; St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park; Winter Park Presbyterian Church, Winter Park; New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando; St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Altamonte Springs; Redeemer Lutheran Church, Winter Park; First Presbyterian Church of Maitland; and St. Mark AME Orlando.

The goals of Our Whole Community, Inc., is to increase the understanding of the concept of whole-person health; change the environment and/or culture in ways that encourage healthy behaviors; serve as a broker of coordinated educational and health initiatives within faith communities that foster wholeness (spiritual, physical, mental, relational and emotional); and develop increased community awareness through dissemination of information and programs.
