OutboundEngine ranks No. 95 on the 35th annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. OutboundEngine also announced the addition of a key hire, Senior Vice President of Strategic Sales Kevin McKeown.
AUSTIN, TX, August 17, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Inc. magazine today ranked OutboundEngine No. 95 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment -- its independent small businesses.
OutboundEngine, an automated marketing platform that helps small business owners uncover the best sales opportunities in their networks, appears on the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in a row having posted a three-year sales growth of 3,378 percent. The news comes as a great surprise in the midst of an already exciting 2016 with OutboundEngine having closed a $16 million Series C funding round earlier this year.
"We are thrilled to be recognized by Inc. and to be in the top 2 percent of the fastest-growing companies in America. We are especially grateful for the more than 8,000 customers who trust us to help them market and grow their businesses."
Branndon Stewart, OutboundEngine CEO and Founder
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Inc. and to be in the top 2 percent of the fastest-growing companies in America,” said OutboundEngine CEO and Founder Branndon Stewart. “We are especially grateful for the more than 8,000 customers who trust us to help them market and grow their businesses.”
The 2016 Inc. 5000, unveiled online at Inc.com and with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 23) is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year growth of 433 percent. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.
"The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” says Inc. President and Editor-in-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team of them. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great -- usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”
OutboundEngine Expands Senior Staff
In addition to cracking the Inc. 5000’s top 100, OutboundEngine also announced the addition of Kevin McKeown to its executive team. McKeown, the former vice president of worldwide sales and business development at Spiceworks, joins OutboundEngine as the senior vice president of strategic sales. While at Spiceworks, McKeown skyrocketed sales revenue from the ground up; he hopes to bring the same level of success to OutboundEngine.
“I'm excited to be joining the OutboundEngine team and to help accelerate the amazing growth the company has seen to date,” said McKeown. “We've had some early wins driving revenue from select strategic partnerships and I will expand upon these across our key verticals.”

Methodology
The 2016 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2012 to 2015. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2012. They have to be based in the U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2015. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2012 is $100,000; the minimum for 2015 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
