Over 200 International Education Institutes Showcase Innovative Courses Tailored for AEC Era at TIEE 2013

The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, in conjunction with government and private sectors, will stage "The 10th Thailand International Education Expo: TIEE 2013" from February 22-24, 2013, at the Royal Paragon Hall

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, in conjunction with government and private sectors, will stage "The 10th Thailand International Education Expo: TIEE 2013" from February 22-24, 2013, at the Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor of Siam Paragon. The event features a grand display on world-class education, and innovative courses geared for the ASEAN Economic Community era, from 200 exhibitors from Thailand and overseas.

Speaking at the press conference, recently held at the Royal Maneeya Room A, the Renaissance Bangkok Hotel, DITP's Deputy Director General Dr.Vuthichai Duangratana disclosed: "In recent years, the international education service sector has played a key role in driving the country's economic growth. Annually, it generates great income and helps save the country's foreign currencies totaling altogether over one hundred billion baht. More than ever before, it is a necessary tool which helps develop our human resources and strengthen the country's competitiveness for AEC era in 2015."

The Deputy Director General further revealed that the rapidly changing political, economic and social landscapes would take place when the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) comes into full effect in a few years' time. "The region will be fully integrated into one enormous single market. There will be free flow of investment, capital, service sectors, and skilled labors. We need to equip our graduates in order to be ready for the opportunities and the challenges. Hence, the development of advanced and innovative curricula to serve the expanding market.
At the same time, our skillful graduates will have to be proficient in foreign languages such as English, Chinese, and probably, those of the ASEAN nations."

Well illustrating this statement was the interesting exhibition of flight simulator from the Civil Aviation Training Center, bartending course from Dusit Thani College, the performance from the Regent's School Bangkok, and the performance from Assumption University.

"To further highlight the massive strength of Thailand, DITP is once again collaborating with public and private organizations to host the TIEE. Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, TIEE 2013 will reaffirm the country's leading position as the regional hub of international education. Being presented at the expo is an entire spectrum of international learning programs -- from kindergarten, primary-secondary-high school levels, and bachelor's degree, onto doctoral degree. Also highlighted are popular vocational studies such as aviation training, cooking, and fashion design,"
the Deputy Director General concluded.

Being held under the concept "Live + Learn in Wonderful Thailand", TIEE 2013 offers great opportunity for parents and students to gather in-depth information about international programs directly from institution representatives. Also available are educational products, games, software, toys, interactive exhibitions, workshops, seminars and discussion relating to education. In addition, on stage daily singing and dancing contests as well as international student performances. TIEE 2013 will be open daily for free admission from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
