A report by CCW Research, a leading Chinese IT market research consultancy entitled "Development Trends of Chinese Market Videoconferencing Systems 2011-2012," highlighted the market gains by Polycom.

The CCW Research findings reveal that the value of the video conferencing market in China grew by 20.6% in just one year from 2010 to 2011, as new technologies such as TelePresence, HD room and desktop systems, and mobile video endpoints have been more widely adopted.

CCW Research also predicts that the video conferencing market overall is expected to grow even further in 2012 as the popularity of emerging video cloud services spreads in emerging markets, such as China. Polycom now reports that it is working with leading service providers to deliver to customer its Video-as-a-Service (VaaS) offerings, which utilise cloud technologies as a delivery driver.
