Paintball Goes Mobile on the East Coast
Online, March 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - You no longer have to travel to play your favorite sport of paintball. You can now have paintball come to you. Phantom Entertainment is one of the first companies on the East Coast to offer paintball at your location.
Phantom Entertainment, based in Carlisle, PA has been offering unique inflatable and interactive games for many years. As paintball continues to grow in popularity, they decided it was time to offer the sport on a mobile level. Paintball is a sport in which players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by hitting them with capsules containing food coloring and gelatin (referred to as paintballs) propelled from a device called a paintball marker.
Phantom's mobile paintball experience is provided with a 100ft x 65ft x 15ft high inflated arena. Inside are scenario style bunkers that include crates, tanks, rocks, barrels, and other realistic looking items. Each player is provided a safety mask, neck protector, gloves, jersey, pants, and marker (paintball gun). Paintballs are also provided.
Two referees are in the field of play at all times, who patrol the course to ensure enforcement of the rules and the safety of the players. If a player is marked with paint, they will call them out, but competitors are also be expected to follow the honor code and remove themselves from play if they are hit. A third staff member outside the arena educates and prepares the next group of participants for game play.
The standard rental is for 4 hours, but additional time is available. The Average game time for amateurs is about 5 minutes and the game is played until everyone is hit. After everyone is "out", the game resets. Obviously those professional paintball players will be able to play much longer before the game would start again.
