Painted Axe received a commission from the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival to celebrate its 25th anniversary Oct. 7-9, 2010 in Helena, Ark.

"We are very proud to have a hand in the one of the nation's foremost showcases of blues music," said Michael Gauf of Painted Axe. "And to be a part of the 25th anniversary is a tremendous honor. Festival officials are projecting attendance figures for this year of around 80,000."

Painted Axe will be customizing a single cone metal resonator from Amistar Guitars (http://www.amistar.cz/), provided by Sterling Billingsley, president of the Sonny Boy Blues Society and the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival.

"We decided to go old school with the resonator's customization," said Gauf. "We've found inspiration in a 1921 piece of Arkansas Blues," said Gauf. The guitar is nearing completion.
Munnie Jordan, executive director of the Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival, said the guitar will be raffled off.
