Palms Trading Company President Guy Berger Featured in April Albuquerque The Magazine

Guy Berger, noted American Indian pottery expert and owner of Palms Trading Company, is featured in Albuquerque The Magazine's April 2010 issue.

Albuquerque The Magazine, the monthly lifestyle magazine about the people and happenings of Albuquerque, featured Guy Berger, noted American Indian pottery expert and owner of Palms Trading Company, in its April 2010 issue.

"I was honored to share in the magazine my passion for Albuquerque, my business and my family," says Berger. "Who knew that when the Del Frate brothers went into business together selling frosty mugs of beer in the 1930s, that today people from around the world would visit our store. I've been fortunate to build a thriving business here, and to donate my time and labor to local non-profits, as well as hone my skills as an author of two books on Pueblo and Navajo pottery."

The Albuquerque The Magazine feature article focuses on Berger as the great-grandson of a New Mexico pioneer family who settled in the Zuni Mountains in the 1860s. Berger purchased Palms Trading Company from his uncle in 1988, turning it into one of the largest wholesale and retail purveyors of American Indian arts and crafts in the world. Palms Trading Company employs 14 people, six of whom are members of the extended family.

Berger also served on the board of the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art in Santa Fe, is an active high school basketball coach, established the golf fundraiser for St. Therese Catholic School, and is a speaker for Character Counts.
