Panic Room Steals Show at SICUR Madrid
Online, March 26, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Continuing to ride the wave of success, the Panic Room Company has just returned from Madrid's eminent security show SICUR 2012 (Salón Internacional de la Seguridad) where its innovative product gained centre of attention and screen time on several of Spain's most-viewed TV channels.
Ignacio Sanchez-Teran, Director of SIMEC, the Panic Room Company's Spanish dealer and stand-holder in Madrid, said, "This Spanish debut for the Panic Room has been nothing short of a triumph. We attracted significant media interest and featured in nationwide news reports on the likes of Telecinco and Antena 3 on the very first day of the Show which helped us to gain instant industry recognition in this country."
Ignacio continues, "Throughout the Show more than a dozen Spanish companies expressed an interest in adding the Panic Room to their product portfolio and we have also signed agreements with companies from Latin America. All the conversations we had at SICUR were very positive and we're looking forward to many more deals coming to fruition. We are grateful to the Panic Room Company for placing their confidence in SIMEC's ability to take the Panic Room to the Iberian and Latin American markets and for supporting us with their physical attendance at SICUR 2012."
Trade interest aside, SIMEC also met those representing the needs of wealthy individuals. One customer from Andalucia expressed an immediate need for two Panic Rooms at their private residence whilst another from Colombia saw the value of the product as a store for arms. Meanwhile, from Mexico, a further customer was particularly interested in the Panic Room's AK47 resistance for a sentry box. Commercial shipping and lone worker protection were also discussed on the stand at SICUR.
Running from 28 February to 2 March, this eighth edition of SICUR attracted 38,840 trade visitors with representation from 80 countries - most notably Portugal which made up 45% of non-Spanish visitors alongside 17 Latin American countries including Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico and Columbia. The Show also received 60 professionals from Russia, 30 from the United States and a notable increase in numbers from India, Korea and Kuwait. SICUR 2012 brought together public and private security, risk prevention in the workplace and fire safety, to showcase an industry that is constantly evolving and innovating.
The Panic Room Company will be on the road once again from 25 to 26 April on Stand E184 at the Counter Terror Expo at London Olympia which welcomes almost 9,000 visitors across the public and private sectors including Armed Forces, Customs, hoteliers, retailers and logistics experts. The Panic Room Company is a finalist in the category 'Personal Protection and Equipment' for the Counter Terror and Specialist Security Awards (CTSS) with winners announced in London on 25 April.
About the Panic Room - Cost-effective and practical, the Panic Room is a safe last point of defence and can be specified to withstand mechanical attacks, shotgun fire and more powerful weapon attacks. Each unit can be adapted to various levels of connectivity to complementary devices such as alarm systems, smoke screens or security cameras. The Panic Room can be installed in half a day with minimal manpower, no welding equipment needed, and be disguised to unobtrusively blend in with any environment. Although the time spent within is likely to be minimal, the Panic Room is comfortable and sustainable with external ventilation and air filtration, breathing equipment, lighting, back-up power supplies, fresh water and basic toilets all part of the concept.
