Paragon Pools Hosts 12th Annual Float Like A Duck on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at YMCA Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV, April 10, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The 12th Annual Float Like A Duck™, a major public safety awareness campaign created by Paragon Pools with an emphasis on water safety is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 12 noon - 4 pm at the Heinrich YMCA Water Sports Park, 4141Meadows Lane in Las Vegas, NV. Duckie, the official water safety mascot invites the public to join him for an afternoon of fun and informative activities.  The event is FREE and open to the public, children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.   

Educating the public on the importance of safety while celebrating the joys of water sports, the annual event will focus on ENFORCING the ABC&D’s of water safety, with a BIG emphasis on A-adult supervision.

Nationally recognized water safety advocate and president of Paragon Pools, Joseph M. Vassallo, CBP APSP Fellow states, “We want to ensure that family members have a comprehensive understanding of water safety; it’s not just a concern when enjoying water activities in a pool, lake or beach, it’s also the preventative measures taken when living or visiting around these bodies of water.”

Duckie and Vassallo are delighted the campaign has succeeded in growing support over the 12 years.  Thousands have been exposed to floating and other lifesaving skills.  “We are very proud to partner with our cities first responders, the health department, prominent news media, fellow businesses and the YMCA to host this important event year-after-year.”

The four-hour event features exhibits, hands-on activities, learn-to-float classes, and open swimming in the YMCA water park.
