Parascript Announces New Version, Implementations of AccuDetect Computer-Aided Detection for Digital Mammography

-- AccuDetect 6.1, installed in France, Germany, and Sweden, offers greater sensitivity and specificity in detecting suspicious lesions on mammograms --

Parascript, LLC, the image analysis and pattern recognition technology provider, today announced the latest version of its computer-aided detection (CAD) technology for mammography. AccuDetect 6.1 offers radiologists continued improvements in sensitivity and specificity in detecting suspicious lesions on mammograms.

Parascript® AccuDetect® is intended for use in screening mammography to identify suspicious areas for breast cancer. The technology can help to prompt closer examination of a potential lesion that a radiologist may have overlooked in an initial read. Digital mammography images are automatically analyzed to identify suspicious areas for possible soft tissue densities and/or calcifications and enable a more accurate interpretation of mammograms.

AccuDetect 6.1 uses proprietary pattern recognition and image processing technology to detect the presence of suspicious lesions on mammogram images and is even more robust, with significantly higher performance compared to the previous version. The result is a state-of-the-art CAD product with high sensitivity and low false-positive rates.

It is available in Europe to digital mammography equipment vendors to integrate with DR (direct radiography) and CR (computer radiography) systems.

"At Parascipt, we are very optimistic about the advances that have been made in AccuDetect 6.1. We remain tireless in our commitment to further our technology and are extremely excited about being able to help in the fight against breast cancer," said Yuri Prizemin, director of business development for medical imaging for Parascript.

AccuDetect 6.1 has been installed in France, Germany and Sweden on CR and DR systems.
