ParetoLogic's Charity Work Recognized with Two Major Awards Nominations

In recognition of ParetoLogic's long-standing commitment to local charity and community developments, the Victoria-based software company has been named a finalist for the BCTIA and VIATeC Community Awards.

ParetoLogic's continuing support and dedication to charities local and worldwide is garnering attention from the tech community. The 2012 BCTIA Technology Impact Awards and VIATeC Technology Awards have both named ParetoLogic as a finalist for their respective Community Awards. As ParetoLogic prepares for two gala events, founders and staff are reflecting on their past contributions.

"We've accomplished a lot together," said Elton Pereira, ParetoLogic's Co-Founder and Chairman. "The ParetoLogic team has been exceptional in digging deep and giving all they could to several charities and special events. Any success we've had is entirely due to the love and care of our staff."

Despite his modesty, Pereira himself spearheads many of the company's charitable activities - not only with significant cash donations, but by putting his body on the line. Pereira has had his head shaved for Cops for Cancer and even jumped into the freezing Selkirk Waterway to raise money for Power to Be. The rest of the ParetoLogic executive team has also led by example, donating sizable sums to charities and joining in unique fundraising activities. Most notably in 2011 several managers and founders were hit with cream pies (staff bid amongst themselves to earn the privilege of throwing the pies). The results of ParetoLogic's efforts over the years include over $10,000 raised for Power to Be, another $10,000 with the Big Bike, and thousands more for many other charities and events.

To award ParetoLogic for these endeavors, ParetoLogic has been listed as a Finalist for the BCTIA Technology Impact Awards: Community Engagement Award and the VIATeC Technology Awards: Community Involvement Award. Winners are being named at two respective galas being held early spring 2012.

"No matter who wins the actual awards, everyone that contributes to a charity is deserving of our respect and admiration," said Pereira. "My thanks go to our staff, our co-finalists, and anyone that goes out of their way to make their community a better place."

Pereira and ParetoLogic are currently planning their next big charity drive for 2012: Free the Children, an international aid foundation that works to build schools around the world.
