Parker & Sons Stands Committed to the Special Olympics

Parker & Sons, Phoenix's number one supplier of home services such as plumbing, cooling, and heating maintenance and repair, has been an integral member of the greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area for over 40 decades. During these decades of service, Parker & Sons has remained committed to a mission of philanthropy. As part of this mission, Parker & Sons has stood committed to the Special Olympics of Arizona.

The Special Olympics, which organizes, runs, and promotes athletics events for the intellectually disabled, has long been recognized as one of the premiere charitable organizations, not just in American, but in the world. It provides competitions year around across 170 countries. Over 4.5 million athletes participates in these annual events.

The mission of the Special Olympics is to “provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.”

"Our involvement with the Special Olympics of Arizona is one of the things I am most proud of. As a business, you always try to do the right thing for your customers and your community. Our partnership with the Special Olympics has been an absolute slam dunk,"

Parker & Sons has long been committed to the Special Olympics of Arizona. Just recently representative of Parker & Sons attended the Special Olympics of Arizona’s 9th annual Breakfast with Champions which was held to honor athletes who had participated in the Special Olympics. At the breakfast, community leaders, law enforcement officials, volunteers, and other local business gathered to listen to inspirational speakers. Loretta Claiborne, marathon runner, winner of the 1996 Arthur Ashe ESPY Courage Award, and Special Olympian gave the key note address.

In addition to attending the Breakfast with Champion, Parker & Sons has spent much of 2015 partnering with the Arizona Diamondbacks to triple donations which were given to the Special Olympics. The program, which ended in September, raised nearly $300,000. Each dollar will be used to support the 18,227 adults and children who participate in the Special Olympics across the state of Arizona.

“Our involvement with the Special Olympics of Arizona is one of the things I am most proud of. As a business, you always try to do the right thing for your customers and your community. Our partnership with the Special Olympics has been an absolute slam dunk,” said Josh Kelly of Parker & Sons.
