Party "Silently" at Rivington Wall's #SelfieCult Mural

A large public party is being thrown in Manhattan's Lower East Side for attendees to light up the #Selfiecult mural on Rivington Street with hundreds of people and a silent disco. There will be glowing headphones with the choice of a DJ or two other mixes, inviting everyone tobreak out the glow sticks, snap photos in front of the wall, and dance through New York's liveliest quiet party.

A silent disco, also known as “silent raves” or “quiet clubbing,” will be held at the Lower East Side’s Rivington Wall, a 11x 50 foot wall located in Manhattan's Lower East Side between Chrystie and Bowery on Rivington Street.

Sponsored by the social league organization NYC Social and produced by Creative CNTRL, this public party will act as a closing reception for the #SelfieCult mural. For the past month and a half, the Rivington wall featured German artist Uta Brauser's "Selfie Cult," a three paneled mural that challenges the idea of an individual's independence in the digital age. Not only for viewing, the mural also provided backdrops for public participation to use the mural to enhance their own selfies.
