Passkey 8.0.3.7 was released on September 6, 2011 which added support for AACS MKB v26, added region-reset capability for PowerDVD 11, added "Enable hybrid disc support" option, and updated language files as usual. Read on for more.

MKB v26 Support:
MKB (Media Key Block) is one of the 4 items contained in an AACS protected Blu-ray disc, and the other 3 items are the Volume ID, the Encrypted Title Keys, and the Encrypted Content. Once the MKB is decrypted, it provides the Media Key. The Media Key is combined with the Volume ID to produce the Volume Unique Key. The Volume Unique Key is used to decrypt the encrypted Title Keys, and the Title Key is used to decrypt the encrypted content. MKB v26 is the newest version of MKB, and now can be removed by DVDFab.

As AACS MKB v26 is out, Passkey has added support for it to the internet based server. From now on, Passkey users, no matter 8.0.3.7 users or old version users, can all get advantage of the server to freely play or access MKB v26 encrypted BD.

PowerDVD 11 Region-Reset Support:
Passkey for Blu-ray has the ability to let you change region setting of popular Blu-ray players with a single click. It makes your playback software essentially "region free" or more accurately "multi-region". Such Blu-ray players are PowerDVD, WinDVD, and TXT. In the new 8.0.3.7 version, this region-reset support for PowerDVD was updated up to PowerDVD 11.

"Enable Hybrid Disc Support" Option:
Passkey supports hybrid disc starting from 8.0.3.2 version. Users can specify which layer to be shown by default: CD, DVD, Blu-ray or HD-DVD, and can also set Passkey to ask about which layer to be shown each time when a hybrid disc is going to be opened. However, some drives will support wrong hybrid disc info. In order to circumvent this, Passkey 8.0.3.7 added the new option "Enable hybrid disc support" which is disabled by default, so that users can choose whether to enable the support accordingly.

About Passkey:
Passkey, as a Windows-based driver, has the ability to remove all known Blu-ray and DVD protections on-the-fly to help users freely watch any Blu-ray/DVD movie with no limit, and can work with lots of compatible software to access Blu-ray/DVD movie contents for users to view, copy, burn, clone, rip or convert them.
