Passkey Allows Users to Watch 3D-only Disc on 2D Display Starting from 8.0.2.7 Version

Version 8.0.2.7 of Passkey is released on April 19, 2011 to let users watch 3D-Only Disc on 2D Display.

Passkey was updated to 8.0.2.7 version on April 19, 2011 with many new features added besides updating language files, such as the support for new Java-based protection, the option "Hide PS3 update files", and the option "Enable Blu-ray 3D-only disc to be played on 2D display". Following are the details.

The "Enable Blu-ray 3D-only disc to be played on 2D display" option is notable as its robust function and the obvious advantage it brings to users. It's a common sense that Blu-ray 3D-only disc is only permitted to be played on 3D display. What if a user wants to view the content in a 3D-only disc but has only a 2D display at hand? Can he/she still watch it even if he/she would like give up the 3D effect as a compromise? The answer is "Yes" after the release of Passkey 8.0.2.7. From right now, Passkey users will have the freedom to enjoy Blu-ray 3D-only disc on a 2D display identical to a 2D Blu-ray.

The newly added "Hide PS3 update files" option is also helpful especially for PS3 users. If the firmware on their PS3 hasn't been updated to the latest version, when they use it to play the Blu-ray disc including "PS3 -UPDATE" folder, they will be prompted by a message telling them to update their PS3. It's annoying. While Passkey 8.0.2.7 can hide such PS3 update files so as to ensure these PS3 users a happy and smooth using experience.

Referring to the support for new Java-based protection, we need to mention an Italian version movie -- "Le Avventure Di Sammy". This is the sole movie we discovered being protected by a new protection based on Java till now. In order to fulfill our aim to meet every user's need and serve users better, Passkey did much researching work and developed a method to move this new Java-based protection out of "Le Avventure Di Sammy" soon after its release.
