Passkey Recently Updated to Support AACS Bus Encryption and Hybrid Disc

Online, July 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Passkey was updated frequently recently to 8.0.3.2 version on July 4, 2011 and to 8.0.3.3 on July 9, 2011. The updates were full of new features, such as AACS bus encryption support, newly added Hybrid Disc page, language files update, some minor changes and improvements.

Passkey 8.0.3.2, besides updated language files, added "Hybrid Disc" page in Settings window. As a result, users can specify which layer to be shown by default: CD, DVD, Blu-ray or HD-DVD. And users can also set Passkey to ask about which layer to be shown each time when a hybrid disc is going to be opened.

Passkey 8.0.3.2 also added support for AACS bus encryption. AACS bus encryption is a new form of protection present in a very few BD-drive models that adds additional layer of encryption in drive firmware. Currently the BD drives with AACS bus encryptions we already know are HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CH20N A201G, HL-DT-ST BD-RE UH12LS28 1.003, and HL-DT-ST BD-RE BE06LU10 YE03. If you have one of these drives, then you can't backup, rip or convert BD as your drive will encrypt M2TS files with a drive-specific key. And you can't find any solution till now, as Passkey now can solve this issue with newly added support for this new bus encryption.

Passkey 8.0.3.3 updated language files, and made some minor changes and improvements just as usual. What's more, it adjusted the interface of Settings window.
