Patent 27â„ Issues Call For Pilot Participation
Dutch business intelligence publisher Patent 27â„ invites life sciences companies worldwide to participate in its pilot procedure. Patent 27 BV offers the first 250 participants a free bi-annual service contract.
Online, February 18, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The Patent 27â„ services are built around a unique collection of fundamental data resources for life sciences management professionals. The pilot grants access to enhanced patent data integrally connected with biological sequences, deal records and clinical trial resources. Upon completion of the pilot, each participant receives fully customized data sets for in-house use which will be frequently updated by Patent 27â„ as part of the service contract.
Patent 27â„ connects details on biological sequences with the businesses that develop them, the clinical trials that test them, and the patents that protect them. The Patent 27â„ products include extensive raw data resources, a patent cluster examination service and - in the near future - a state-of-the-art research platform. The data service provides a refined but industry-wide coverage through proprietary and public databases. With unprecedented access to previously unconnected information, Patent 27â„ brings a wealth of strategic intelligence into a single, harmonized interface.
Due to the global expansion of the life sciences industry, inconsistent data archives and record-keeping stay the norm in the patent research community, leading to analytical bottlenecks. Differences in timelines for bringing products to the market add to this complexity, as do variations in developing businesses, clinical trials, R&D funding, and gaining market approval. Patent authorities differ across countries in methods and terms, while poorly curated data sources often compound these dissimilarities, rather than clarify them. Due to an exclusive focus on the life sciences industries, Patent 27â„ managed to improve coherency and simplify these challenges.
Patent 27â„ anticipates a trend towards customization of 'big data' with its innovative service infrastructure. For each pilot participant Patent 27â„ prepares a patent cluster of at least 27 patents. Subsequently, participants perform a review of the prepared patent cluster. Based on the reviewed cluster, Patent 27â„ will generate the participant's customized data sets. During the review a participant can revise the prepared cluster as a way to customize the data sets Patent 27â„ generates. In addition to the cluster review, each participant is required to fill-out a questionnaire regarding the utility of the services.
Participants are recruited via the Patent 27â„ pilot support website, email, telephone, trade associations, press releases and on-site presentations. To each potential participant Patent 27 BV distributes information leaflets and pilot agreements. These contain user guidelines, technical specifications and terms of service. Requests for participation can be submitted until April 15th 2013.
