Coding Conferences, LLC , Conference Organizer of CODINGCON (@codingcon) 2012, the 5th Annual 2013 Medical Coding Update and Reimbursement Conference proudly announced the inclusion of Pathology Expert Diana Vorhees, MA, CLS, MT, SH, CLCP to its line-up of distinguished speakers for the prestigious event happening on December 6-8, 2012 at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa in Orlando, FL.

As the country's ONLY multi-specialty conference in medical coding, billing and reimbursement, CodingCon is expecting the attendance of practice managers, coders, billers, physicians, healthcare consultants and many other healthcare professionals who aim to code more accurately, speed up reimbursements, stay in compliance and decrease or possibly eliminate financial loss in their practice.

Diana Voorhees, MA, CLS, MT, SH, CLCP, having been Director of Sales and Marketing and Senior Consultant for a national coding and reimbursement firm for nearly five years, developed DV & Associates, a coding and reimbursement firm which provides consulting for physicians and facilities in all specialties.

Ms. Voorhees has created a network of consultants with various healthcare backgrounds in order to provide quality, credible, and resourceful results for all consulting services. DV & Associates has been incorporated in excess of sixteen years. Ms. Voorhees initiated her career in laboratory medicine within the Division of Hematology (Doctors Wintrobe and Cartwright), Department of Medicine at the University of Utah.

She has also worked with the Division of Hematology at the Ohio State University, the Clinical Chemistry Department at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, and the Special Hematology and Hemostasis Laboratory at the University of Utah. She spent 14 years as an Associate Clinical Professor and administrative faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah. During her last year and a half in academia, she was recruited as Program Director to design, implement and direct the program in cytotechnology in the Department of Pathology.

Ms. Voorhees, upon leaving the University setting, joined Coulter Corporation and provided technical support, customer training, and education primarily in the western United States. She was recruited by a national coding and reimbursement consulting firm, Med-Index/Medicode, where she spent nearly five years developing and marketing the consulting services for hospitals and other facilities, performing consulting engagements, providing seminars for national associations, enhancing product development, and serving on various corporate committees.

In CodingCon, Ms.Vorhees will handle sessions that aim to identify and plan for the CPT and HCPCS procedure code changes that will affect your practice income starting Jan. 1, 2013. You'll also want to make sure you found all the ICD-9-CM diagnosis code changes that went into effect Oct. 1 that implicate your claims. This session is a guaranteed time-saver for business offices by giving the ready-made scoop on the CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 changes for 2013 that facilities need to attend to. The session, "Don't Let the 2013 CPT & ICD-9-CM Changes Catch You Flat-Footed" is slated on Friday, December 7, 2012.

Other sessions led by Vorhees include, "Don't Let Molecular Pathology "Get Your Goat" (Part I & II)" and "Here's How the Regulators Plan To "Help" You Some More in 2013".

She adds, "We're very pleased that Diana is returning to CodingCon this year. Her sessions with us have always been a big crowd drawer and have always gained great reviews. We want our attendees to benefit as much as they can from this medical coding, billing and reimbursement conference, we bring only the best of the best to deliver this much-needed information for the industry."
