Perkins Paper Inc. Offers a Peek at its Unique Operations Strategy through their Competent Delivery Methods
Online, July 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (San Diego, CA)- In an interview with Food and Drink Digital, Bob Crawford, Sr., Perkins' Chief Operating Officer divulges the dynamics in which his packaging firm operates, especially when it comes to delivery in "Perfect Order."
The article describes Perkins' innovative procedure in making their efficient deliveries to their customers. One of the biggest metrics
Perkins has is the perfect order and what they hold as a standard is an order that goes complete with no backorders, no substitutions, no damage, no errors and no wrong orders or shortages on the truck. They also stick to the price that is agreed on so they do not have to cut a credit against the price. With each customer they have a delivery window, which the customers have accepted and Perkins agrees to deliver their order within that timeframe.
"If we don't then it's not a perfect order," Crawford said. "And the customer's happy because they get their supplies from us, if the supplies come in right the world is beautiful. If their supplies come in wrong then there's an issue and there's a problem that needs to be dealt with."
Crawford also talks about their Strategic Deployment, which simply states the goal, states the timeline, states the action plans and once a month are updated to see if they're on schedule and if the action plans are producing the desired results.
Perkins also is very involved in donating to a local cancer clinic as they participate in the Pan Mass Challenge.
