PERRENIAL ST. LOUIS FAVORITE MONARCH TO RE-OPEN IN AUGUST AS A SOUTHERN-INSPIRED BISTRO AND BAR
Monarcch to Host a Sneak Preview Event on July 31, 2010 to Benefit
the National Children's Cancer Society.
JULY 20, 2010 (ST. LOUIS, MO) - As the saying goes, "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" or "Let the good times roll!" And in this case it's also for a great cause. Monarch, the award-winning restaurant in the heart of downtown Maplewood and creation of local food stars Aaron Teitelbaum and Jeff Orbin, has recently completed its transformation into a southern-inspired bistro and bar. To celebrate Monarch's grand re-opening, a committee of St. Louis' finest business executives, philanthropists and volunteers have come together to plan a sneak-peek fundraiser to benefit the National Children's Cancer Society (N.C.C.S.) on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The evening will feature a variety of scrumptious delights from Monarch's exciting new food menu including a raw bar, crawfish etouffee, shrimp and grits, and po' boys, along with cocktails and two stages of jazz entertainment. "We are excited about this new culinary concept," said Aaron Teitelbaum, co-owner. "While the restaurant was being remodeled, Monarch's Executive Chef, Josh Galliano, a New Orleans native and a Le Cordon Bleu graduate, trained on-location with his team to master the flavors of the city, as well as the region. The time they recently spent in the food capital of the South has inspired Galliano and his staff to create a food and drink menu that is truly unique to the St. Louis restaurant scene."
Tickets to the opening event, which are selling fast, are priced at $75 per person. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the N.C.C.S and can be purchased by calling Trish Collins at 314-446-5227 or on-line at www.nationalchildrenscancersociety.org/netcommunity/monarch. Space is limited, so reservations are required.
"We are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile children's charity with our opening event," Teitelbaum said. "Many of our staff members' lives at Monarch have been affected by childhood cancers and we are grateful to be able to help the N.C.C.S. to further its mission to help families through their cancer journeys. The evening will certainly be one to remember and very special for us."
The event committee, under the leadership of non-stop, non-profit maven Donna Wilkinson includes: Kathy and Joe AuBuchon, Rachel and Travis Brown, Mary Deverman and David Steward II, David M. Diener, Kim and Tim Eberlein, Susan and Warren Gelman, Stacy and Doug King, Diane Kline, Deb Hollingsworth and Mark Stacye, Jill and Dan McGuire, Sheila and Jeff Michalski, Genie and Harry Mueller, Noemi and Michael Neidorff, Kara and Tim O'Leary, Jeff Orbin, Jinny Panton, Nila and Alex Paradowsk, Peggy and Jerry Ritter, Marsha and Bill Rusnack, Annemarie and Matt Schumacher, Kathy and Mark Slocomb, Aaron Teitelbaum, Jim Timmerberg, Carol and Tom Voss, Glenda and Al Wiman, Kathie and Rich Winter, and Jill Wyatt and Charles Gail
