Houston, TX - December 02, 2009. PerSys Medical is proud to announce the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement with Baylor College of Medicine. The agreement will encompass product development and the commercialization of technology disclosures developed and owned by BCM into products for the field of Emergency Medicine and Trauma. The first product, jointly developed by Baylor and PerSys, will be introduced to the American market in 2010.
"Recent work has demonstrated that certain aspects of cervical spine trauma have been poorly understood" said Michael H. Heggeness, M.D., Ph.D., Chair of Orthopedics, Baylor College of Medicine. "The technology licensed by PerSys has great potential to significantly improve the way in which a wide variety of accident victims are stabilized and treated."
Baylor College of Medicine, the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest, is recognized as a premier academic health and science center known for excellence in education, research and patient care. Located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Baylor College of Medicine has affiliations with eight educational hospitals, each highly regarded. The licensing agreement with PerSys Medical was executed by the Baylor Licensing Group, which is responsible for all licensing and option agreements for the commercialization of technologies developed by Baylor scientists.
