Perytons Releases the Bluetooth Smart Mesh Simulator
Perytons Ltd. announced today the general availability of the innovative Perytons Bluetooth® Smart Mesh Simulator, an additional tool of its Bluetooth Smart Protocol Analyzers product line.
Tel Aviv, Israel, July 23, 2015 (Newswire.com) - With the simulator, R&D engineers as well as QA experts can easily build the traffic that each Bluetooth Smart Mesh network node is expected to generate, and transmit it over the air into target devices. By running the Perytons Bluetooth Smart Analyzer in parallel, the behavior of the devices under test can be captured and analyzed.
“We believe that having the right analysis toolbox is a must for a company looking to succeed in developing new-technology based products and have them ready quickly and robustly in the market” said Yaron Soffer – Perytons Founder and CEO. "As stated by the Bluetooth SIG when the Bluetooth Smart Mesh Working Group was formed (back in February 2015), adding Mesh to Bluetooth Smart is an example of a feature that aims to assist Bluetooth Smart in evolving into a mesh type protocol while introducing new options and application possibilities; yet this feature possesses new challenges for developers and system architects. The new Perytons Bluetooth Smart Mesh Simulation is a big contribution for assisting in meeting these challenges” Yaron added.
“As we enter the era of the Internet of Things, it’s clear that Bluetooth technology will play an essential role in connecting the next generation of intelligent devices,” said Errett Kroeter, senior director of marketing for the Bluetooth SIG. “This announcement is another example of the ecosystem growing in support of high-quality Bluetooth product development, which will benefit innovators and developers around the world.”
On top of message generation, the Perytons Bluetooth Smart Mesh Simulator includes Input and Output hardware bits that introduce even further options such as synchronizing the simulated mesh traffic with the target device behavior by capturing important signals such as receiver ‘on’ time, CPU status, etc. and presenting them on the Perytons Bluetooth Smart Protocol Analyzer windows with the same time-base as the received Bluetooth Smart messages or synchronizing external test equipment (e.g. Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope) with specific/user-defined criteria simulation or received messages.
I/O events are specifically marked in the Perytons Smart application’s views for easy recognition and usage.
The simulator can also generate Bluetooth Smart connection related traffic with exact timing and the needed frequency hopping sequence.
