Exploring Strategies for Hospitals Obtaining Electronic Health Record Technology Certification

Wolters Kluwer Health announced today that Pharmacy OneSource, software-as-a-service provider of Sentri7, a clinical surveillance, documentation and reporting tool, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Bambi Rose, RHIT, of BLR Solutions, and Jim Tate of EMR Advocate, on "EHR Technology Certification for Hospitals: Complete and Modular Options."

To be eligible for the CMS Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs, a hospital must possess Certified EHR Technology complying with 100 percent of the government criteria. Rose and Tate will explore the importance of technology certification as well as the different paths to obtaining it. In addition, the process of readiness assessment and who should be on your core team will be discussed.

About the Presenters: Bambi Rose, RHIT, is the President and CEO of BLR Solutions, LLC. She has extensive experience working with vendors and providers helping them to prepare for technology certification testing under the ARRA Meaningful Use incentive program and other proprietary certification programs. Bambi also has years of experience evaluating, selecting, purchasing and implementing electronic health record systems in both the ambulatory provider and hospital environments, and she has worked with most of the major vendors in the marketplace.

Jim Tate, President of EMR Advocate, Inc., is a nationally recognized expert on the CMS EHR Incentive Program and the "meaningful use of certified technology." He is an accomplished project manager and has led numerous EHR implementations in the United States and Asia. Jim has worked with over 130 HIT vendors in the development and certification of both EHR and Practice Management systems. He is the author of The Incentive Roadmap, the first step-by-step manual to help medical practices achieve the CMS EHR Incentives.
