Pharmacy OneSource Announces Free Webinar on Sepsis Management
Examining efficient strategies to handle and prevent sepsis in healthcare
Online, July 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Bellevue, WA - Pharmacy OneSource, software-as-a-service provider of Sentri7, a web-based, real-time infection prevention surveillance, documentation and reporting system, is pleased to announce a complimentary webinar, "Sepsis Management: The Latest Evidence-Based Practice," presented by Kirsten Pyle-Springer, RN, CCRN.
Sepsis is the body's response to infection. The forms of sepsis include severe sepsis, which occurs when acute organ dysfunction or failure results, and septic shock, which occurs in severe sepsis when the cardiovascular system begins to fail, depriving vital organs of an adequate oxygenated blood supply.
In 2004, the Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines were developed to improve the management, diagnosis, and treatment of sepsis. The guidelines aim to reduce mortality from sepsis via a multi-point strategy. In this webinar, Pyle-Springer will present case reviews on handling sepsis.
