Pharmacy OneSource Releases New Features for Sentri7
New Rule Improvements for Pharmacy and Additional Infection Prevention Reporting
Online, May 12, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today several new improvements have been added to Sentri7, a web-based, enterprise-wide electronic surveillance application that helps hospital staff identify at-risk patients.
Pharmacy teams now have enhanced rule criteria when reviewing medications provided on an "as needed" basis, known as PRN. This enhancement enables pharmacists to filter out PRN medication orders at will when it is not appropriate to display as part of their workflow. Conversely, lists specific to include only PRN orders can be run, if needed.
Infection Prevention teams benefit from expanded validation, export and print functionality for their antibiogram reports; as well as full support for National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) uploading capabilities for UTI, CLIP and LABID reporting forms. New infection rate reports are available for multiple-drug resistant organisms Acinetobacter and Klebsiella. These organisms have increased in prevalence in U.S. hospitals over the last three decades and have important implications for patient safety.
Sentri7 by Pharmacy OneSource combines medication, laboratory, patient, radiology and surgery data to facilitate earlier, better, and more consistent interventions. Accelerating workflows can lead to shorter lengths of stay, lower costs, improved patient safety and reduced antibiotic resistance.
