In a time when many businesses struggle and focus on how to increase profits or stay afloat, Linda Lutes, M. Ed. recently launched a natural skincare product line under the name of Monarch Care. (www.monarchcare.com) With a true philanthropic spirit, she has committed to give 10% of the proceeds from her sales to charities - the main two are Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Special Olympics.
Linda Lutes, owner of Monarch Care told us: "I chose the Monarch as a symbol of longevity, hope and faith. It is my dream to provide a safe, nurturing work environment for special needs individuals and women who have left abusive relationships. Our workers will be trained in what will likely be their first job. I want to give them the opportunity to support themselves and their children."
Monarch is also an acronym: It stands for Mission: Overcoming Needs to Achieve Respect, Confidence and Hope for all.
The focus of Ms. Lutes' career and life to date has been caring for people with special needs. Linda has focused on skin and skin issues for many years as she's taught in public school systems, schools based out of Children's Hospital including the Burn Unit, Pediatric Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
Many of the educators, healthcare providers, parents, children and babies Linda has personal contact with suffer from skin issues -- from dry, red, chapped skin, rough heels, knees, elbows and cracked hands. Some have eczema, psoriasis or significantly dry skin from chemotherapy or thyroid conditions. Ms. Lutes has brought her passion to help people to another level by developing formulas for those with special skincare needs.
"Your skin is your largest organ, your physical outer layer and keeping it healthy should be a priority. We need to focus on protecting our skin as that's our first line of defense in keeping ourselves healthy. Unfortunately, we tend to overlook our skin. The value of keeping it properly moisturized is not always appreciated or understood."
In addition to special skincare needs, the products on her website, www.monarchcare.com, include a full line of facial crèmes and cleansers, shower gels and emollients, lotions, etc. Ms. Lutes has plans to launch in the very near future a line of products for Mommy-to-be and Monarch for Men.
