Private Practice Summit 2018

Hands-On Diagnostics, a national franchise that helps Physical Therapists establish diagnostic testing technologies within their physical therapy facilities, hosts its annual symposium on September 21 and 22, 2018 at the Sheraton Brooklyn hotel.

Physical Therapists from around the country gather to discuss how these advanced technologies can help enhance the effectiveness of their treatments and their patient outcomes. A multicenter recent study showed that there is a 60% improved patient management when selected patients received Electromyography or Musculoskeletal Ultrasound imaging testing performed by Physical Therapists as part of the patient physical therapy experience.

Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos, HODS Chairman of the Board

This year's keynote presenter will be no other than the world-renowned Jun Kimura, MD Emeritus Professor of Neurology at the University of Iowa.  Dr. Kimura is regarded as the pioneer of Clinical Electrophysiology Testing with over 700 article, book and chapter publications in the field and over 50 years of clinical and academic work. Dr. Kimura's best selling book “Electrodiagnosis in Diseases of Nerve and Muscle: Principles and Practice ” is considered as the bible of electrodiagnostic testing.      Dr. Kimura who has served as past editor of the "Muscle and Nerve" journal, is also an associate faculty for Hands-On Diagnostics (HODS) teaching advanced techniques during the HODS symposiums.

Although the annual symposium is exclusive and open only to the members of Hands-On Diagnostics (HODS) and their guests, other Physical Therapists who are not members are attending the Private Practice Summit 2018 that takes place at exactly the same location and same dates.  The Summit discusses solutions to the challenges that Physical Therapists in Private Practice have.
