Online, November 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - A search for alternative medicines to cure the body's ailments led Piers Gibbon across the world trying some of the most unusual remedies. He takes you on his journey as he hosts a new special featured on National Geographic "The Witch Doctor Will See You Now".
The series will air in the United States on November 7, 2011 on the National Geographic Channel and every night during the week as part of Expedition Week.

Gibbon goes into some of the world's most exotic places testing some of the most unconventional medicines that actually work. It's the true alternative to western medicine!
Through his journey, Gibbon placed a rubber hose through his nose called a "rubber netti" in a Yoga cleansing. He allowed leeches to suck his blood, and he took hallucinogenic remedies in third world countries.
You'll even see Gibbon get arrested in Cameroon trying a therapy that involved a shallow grave, an AK47 and blood.
When asked about the results from some of the different remedies he and his crew received, Gibbon's replied "We actually saw cures happen like with Rapture's shoulder after tongue acupuncture. Jenna got calmer and braver in Cameroon after some intensive therapy that involved a shallow grave and some AK47's. Charlie had an insight into a possible way to stop a migraine in its tracks in India. Judith got asthma relief from a termites nest in Peru...
And I think all of us learned to respect the knowledge and care we were shown."
"There's more in store for me and rest assured it doesn't involve beaches and meadows" says Gibbon.
