Pinellas County Short Sale Realtor Invites Seniors to the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club
Online, February 10, 2012 (Newswire.com) - As a Pinellas County short sale Realtor, I do my best to keep updated about local events to share with past and present clients. As a result, I often find myself amazed at the exciting number of events available for all ages on any given day in this wonderful place. Today, I'm delighted to invite locals and visiting home buyers in their golden years to take a little time off in order to be a part of the Shuffleboard Club in St. Petersburg.
Since July 4, 2011, the Shuffleboard Club had been providing unlimited entertainment for senior locals and tourists who care to pit their shuffleboard skills against each other. The event will end its run on June 30.
Shuffleboard, which is also known by other terms such as "shovelboard" or the more antiquated term "shove-board", is a board game that requires players to shove weighted pucks with broom-shaped paddles. The objective of the game is to shove your puck toward the end of a rather long and narrow deck board and onto marked scoring areas without having it fall over. The game gets more exciting, however, as other players may also strategically choose to shove other players' pucks off the board for better positioning.
Shuffleboard is considered to be a vastly fun game for people of all ages. It is also quite suitable for seniors as it requires more strategic playing than the use of physical strength. Local seniors appear to agree if the numbers making up the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club are taken into account.
According to Pinellas County short sale Realtor news, the Shuffleboard Club is one of the town's most beloved cultural and historical landmarks, and it had long served as one of the gathering places for shuffleboard lovers ranging from their twenties to seniors well in their eighties. Beginners who would like to hone their skills may learn some new tricks at the club from seven to eleven in the evening every Friday. The Shuffleboard Club offers shuffleboard games and activities for free. All equipment is also free to use and there are always volunteers on hand to assist newcomers and get them acquainted with the rules of the game.
