Pink Business: Local Office Supply Company Advocates for the Cure
Discount Office Services of Irvine, CA pledges to raise awareness for breast cancer through donations and community involvement.
Online, October 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Employees at Discount Office Services are doing their part during the month of October to raise awareness for breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women and accounts for one out of every four cancers diagnosed in US women. Realizing how many women are affected by this, the company has pledged to donate $5 for every online order placed by customers that is over $125.
Female employees are also stepping up by participating in Wacoal's "Fit for the Cure" event at the Mission Viejo Macy's on Oct. 22. As a whole, the company will be participating in another local event designed to raise awareness for the cure.
Lisa McLaughlin, Director of Customer Relations at Discount reflects that; "as a woman, this month hits close to home because I've felt the effects of breast cancer firsthand in the life of a close friend, and I know how devastating it can be. I'm happy to do whatever I can to help raise awareness and money for the cure, and I'm just glad my company feels the same way too."
