Piola Unveils An Act Of Green Campaign In Honor Of Earth Day; Dine By Candlelight On Earth Day, April 22
In honor of Earth Day, Piola (www.piola.it), the Italian restaurant known for its pizza and its art exhibits, has launched several acts of green to raise awareness about the environment and to raise funds for local sustainability efforts.
Online, April 15, 2012 (Newswire.com) - In honor of Earth Day, Piola (www.piola.it), the Italian restaurant known for its pizza and its art exhibits, has launched several acts of green to raise awareness about the environment and to raise funds for local sustainability efforts.
Piola will donate 1% of its daily revenues from April 15 - April 22 to ECOMB (Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches) for its beach cleaning efforts and environmental sustainability projects. Also, anyone attending ECOMB's Green Cinema showcase of "This is Your Ocean: Sharks" at the Miami Beach Cinemateque will receive 20% of their bill.
"Our partnership with ECOMB allows Piola to team up with our diners to support local environmental projects," said Dante Carniato, who along with his brother Stefano, own Piola Miami Beach and the global restaurant chain with 34 locations worldwide.
On Earth Day, Sunday April 22 Piola Miami Beach will turn off the lights for the entire day (Noon - Midnight) for a unique candlelight dining experience.
"It sounds romantic, but it's really a symbolic act of green or preservation," Carniato said. "There are so many ways we can protect our environment. Turning off the lights and using less electricity is just one way. We've created a list of actions people can take that are simple and go along way to reducing our footprint and reducing greenhouse emissions."
Piola encourages its diners to commit to just one act of green and recommends a few simple steps to launch the habit of preservation.
