Pittsburgh Rapper Zio Goes International

Pittsburgh, Pa. American born rapper Zio visits Europe and plans to finish music projects over seas.

Pittsburgh, Pa. born and bred rapper Zio continues to rock the local stage, with his latest music video ¨Past That¨. Recently, we caught up with the elusive hometown heroe at the MTV European Awards 2010 in Madrid, Spain, Zio yelled out ¨It´s Black and Gold, Black and Gold, Black and Gold, because Yellow is scared!¨. Letting on lookers know that his city is in the building, while also taking shots at another Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa.

Though he did not receive any awards, Zio, who returned to Europe last Tuesday, had something to celebrate after learning his new single ¨Past That¨had climbed to No.1 in the local Pittsburgh singles charts according to demographics released by YouTube.com.

In April 2010, Zio released his first mixtape ¨The Tranzition¨. It was made available via his website and official Facebook page. From the success of his first mixtape, he later began releasing more singles, and since, has been capitalizing from the buzz.

He has achieved this success without even signing to a major record label, however, where ever this kid goes, he's gonna do well. The bidding war for Zio can, and will become serious.

With such a diverse display, Zio is poised to wake up a dormant industry and cement his name in this game. But more than that, with his debut studio album, and a slew of mixtapes currently in production, he hopes to change the tide of current rap music, swaying it in a more insightful, meaningful and passionate direction.
