PJ Jacobsen Finishes Strong at Infineon

Round 2 of the 2011 AMA Sportbike Series sees Jacobsen ride well and earn points for his team.

Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California was the scene for AMA Sportbike's second round this past weekend, May 11th-15th. Dubbed the West Coast MotoJam, this was a race where the Celtic Racing / Fast By Ferracci / Ducati 848 EVO team were looking to pick up momentum.

From the very start of warm-ups, PJ was marking up some of the track's fastest times. This would give Jacobsen the confidence he needed in himself, the motorcycle, and his team to be able to focus on this weekend's race.

PJ expressed this confidence by saying, "I could not hope for a better set up motorcycle. My team worked around the clock to make every conceivable adjustment needed to fit my style. We are hoping for a great finish."

In qualifying, Jacobsen put his Ducati 848 EVO in row two. PJ's excellent starting position as well as his own poise as a rider brought him to a solid fourth place finish.

Watching PJ race, it is sometimes difficult to remember that he is the youngest rider to compete in the Daytona Sportbike Class. But Eraldo Ferracci puts this all into perspective. He said, "This is a very difficult race track. Many veterans struggle here, so we are happy. Yes, very happy- PJ rode well and is going home safe. I am proud of him."
