PlainTalk Planning Releases Video "A Proposal for Taxing the Rich"

Professor Drakes has released a short PlainTalk Planning member video that summarizes a new proposal for taxing the rich and small businesses.

Today PlainTalk Planning released a short member video presentation that summarizes a new proposal for taxing the rich and small businesses. Authored by Dwight Drake of the University of Washington School of Law, the proposal offers a six-point plan that would promote business growth and job creation, simplify tax planning for small businesses, increase taxes for those who take home more than $500,000 a year, and escalate government revenues. The plan is designed to eliminate the present link between high-end tax rates and the challenges of small business owners.

"The key is to decouple taxes on the rich from taxes paid by those who build businesses and put people to work," said Professor Drake. "If this is done right, businesses will have more money to reinvest for growth, investors will have stronger incentives, the tax world for small businesses will get much simpler, the burdens and hassles of pass-through entities will disappear, millions will get back to work much faster, and government revenues will increase. This proposal illustrates that there's plenty of middle ground for smart reforms. Our lawmakers just need to get there. As stated in the presentation, this type of proposal may help flush out the real objectives of the key players."

The short video can be viewed at the PlainTalk Planning website ( http://www.plaintalkplanning.com/News ), at Professor Drake's blog ( http://www.drakeplaintalkplanning.com ) or at the "plaintalkplanning" YouTube channel.
