PlayGen Present The Serious Games Showcase And Design Workshop Event 12th May 2010 In London.

LONDON - Join PlayGen and the Serious Games Institute for a day of exploring serious games across sectors on 12th May 2010.

PlayGen are showing a whole raft of digital projects, using games to engage on serious topics, from health to policy to games made for changing behaviour to safety and much more. Rounding off with a hands on session designing a serious game or two collectively.

The event facilitators will be Kam Star, Mathew Henson, Annah Hutchings and James Allsopp.

9:30 - Serious Games for Police and Community Engagement, we'll examine projects on :

10:15 - Serious Games for Health, covering projects on :

+Reducing remission in cancer patients

+Triage training

11:30 - Serious Games for Government and Policy :

+UK Flood Policy - raising public awareness
+Public policy engagement using games
+Games to help voters understand running for office
+Controlling the country's budget
+Dealing with human rights and immigration
+Oil, war, corruption and the control of finite resources

12:30 - 1:30 - Lunch and Hands On session to play the games from the morning

1:30 - Serious games in Defence and Military

+Battlefield Situational Awareness
+Location Awareness
+Open Source Virtual World for Defence

2:15 - Designing, developing, commissioning Serious Games and Game Based Learning products

3:30 - Hands on Design workshop - where we collectively design a serious game or two.
