PODS, KOGO Host Donation Drive To Benefit Military Families And Homefront San Diego On July 30

PODS of San Diego, Homefront San Diego and AM 600 KOGO was will host a donation drive to benefit local military and military families on July 30. Current needs include baby items such as new cribs and mattresses, changing tables, supplies and more.

Honor guard set to open donation drive where organizers hope to collect a record number of donations for military families in need.

(SAN DIEGO) - Now is the time to show your American pride and help our U.S. military and their families with basic necessities for living while they selflessly serve our country.

The first donations drive, hosted by PODS of San Diego, Homefront San Diego and AM 600 KOGO was so successful, a second drive has been planned. During this drive, organizers hope to collect items specifically to help babies, toddlers and kids.

The community is encouraged to stop by before the start of the event, where a U.S. Marines Honor Guard will open with a flag ceremony and the National Anthem at 9:55 a.m.

Current needs include baby items such as new cribs and mattresses, changing tables, new or gently used strollers, high chairs, bassinets, baby clothes sizes newborn to 5T, crib bedding and blankets, new packages of diapers, wipes, shampoo and lotion. Car seat donations will be accepted however product must be new with purchase tags attached. Cash donations or gift cards to grocery stores also are requested for families.

Donations will be accepted at the PODS® containers between 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, July 30 at:
