PODS Lexington Comes to the Rescue for Local Nonprofits in 2011

Local PODS manager, Ken Kocon, makes 'giving back to the community' a pivotal part of business

In 2011, PODS Lexington, the local moving and storage services provider, donated more than $40,000 in logistics to nonprofits throughout Fayette County.

"Since we began with PODS in 2010, we've always made supporting local organizations a priority in everything we do," said Ken Kocon, manager of operations for PODS Lexington. "Not only does our staff receive the satisfaction of a job well done but we've been able to form close relationships with innovative people who are leaders in our community."

Among the storage, delivery and logistics donations, PODS has served 13 local nonprofit organizations including Toys for Tots, Lexington Art League and the Red Cross. PODS is also the official moving and storage partner of the Lexington Habitat for Humanity.

"Thanks to the continuous support from the group at PODS Lexington, we've been able to provide a more efficient and secure work site for our staff and volunteers," said Dana Stefaniak, resource development director for Lexington Habitat for Humanity. "They have gone above and beyond to help Lexington Habitat for Humanity and the wonderful people we serve."

"2010 kicked off an exciting partnership between the Lexington Art League and PODS," said Andrea Coates, marketing director of the Lexington Art League. "With PODS gracious donations, we created unique and exciting mobile art pieces that traveled around the community and even throughout local high schools to teach students about the joys of art."
