PODS Moving and Storage Names Tony Virtue as U.S. Mountain Regional Manager

Local resident steps up to support community, helps bolster bottom line for six PODS franchises

Tony Virtue, territory manager of PODS Reno, was recently promoted to mountain regional manager for Storage Mobility, the largest provider of PODS moving and storage services in the U.S.

Virtue oversees more than 20 employees at the six mountain region PODS franchise locations in Albuquerque, Boise, Boulder, Reno, Salt Lake City and Spokane. Virtue supports the franchise locations by managing marketing initiatives, overseeing workforce training, and improving day-to-day operations.

The Reno resident was originally hired in January of 2007 as PODS Reno territory manager. In that capacity, he received multiple safety awards as a leader within Storage Mobility's 21 franchise network. Opened only a year before, the Reno Storage Center is a 30,000 sq. ft climate and pest-controlled warehouse, serving a 100 mile radius surrounding Reno.

Prior to joining PODS, Virtue worked as operations manager for Mor Furniture for 6 years and with the United States Forest Service training in emergency personnel positions such as wilderness ranger, law enforcement officer and as a wild lands fire fighter.

"I love working for PODS," said Virtue. "PODS makes moving and storage an easy process. With families and businesses facing tighter budgets and added stress, it's more important than ever to have a dependable company moving and storing your valuables. I even used PODS when I moved, and I couldn't be more proud to work for such an efficient company."

As regional manager, Virtue hopes to help the mountain region increase profitability, excel in safety and customer service while increasing community involvement. He has been pivotal in forging relationships with a variety of Reno area nonprofits including: the Boys and Girls Club, the Reno-Tahoe Open and the Susan G. Komen race. An organization that PODS supports that is particularly near and dear to his heart is the Sparks Pop Warner football league, which his 11 year old son plays for.
