Political Thriller Envisions Sarah Palin Presidency

Sarah Palin wins the 2012 U.S. presidential election and becomes America's 45th president, heading a disaster-prone administration in a dark political thriller, "Sarah Palin Apocalypse Americana."

Sarah Palin first came to nationwide prominence as the vice-presidential running mate of Sen. John McCain. Speculation continues on whether or not she will seek office in the 2012 presidential election, but author Sheldon Filger has written a political thriller based on just that premise, entitled "Sarah Palin Apocalypse Americana."

"Though Sarah Palin has been trivialized by mainstream media, as well as by political observers of both liberal and conservative viewpoints, I believe the prospect of Sarah Palin winning the 2012 U.S. presidential election is a serious possibility, especially in a time of economic uncertainty and unending wars abroad," said Filger.

The Palin-based book foresees a world where former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has won the 2012 presidential election. She's been inaugurated as the nation's 45th president in a time of accelerated global upheaval. The nation is facing a monumental foreign debt crisis, global economic depression and the rise of China as the new world power to supplant the U.S. Palin and the Tea Party establishment seek to impose their will through military might to reengineer a world that conforms to their neoconservative elite vision.

The Palin novel shows readers a vision of several bleak, but all too possible futures. The U.S. economy could collapse under radical tax cuts amidst an explosion of national debt. Deregulation could allow corporate interests to run wild and result in irreversible environmental damage, or the danger could come from a push to drill for domestic oil at all costs. Would a Palin-run government unleash a world war in which no one really wins?

Filger presents readers with terrible yet possible scenarios under a Palin-directed government, a prospect that could easily come to pass with the current economic uncertainty, rising unemployment and the disparity between the wealthy and the lower classes. Disillusioned voters searching for a solution to the ills that plague them could easily turn the current governmental tide and result in a presidential win for Palin. Filger's novel offers a timely glimpse into a world that could be, while delivering a sober warning on how easily the fiction of today could become tomorrow's reality.

An American-Canadian writer, Filger is also the author of "Hillary Clinton Nude," "Global Economic Forecast 2010-2015: Recession Into Depression," "Erotic Book" and "King of Bombs: A Novel About Nuclear Terrorism." He's a blogger with the Huffington Post, commenting on economics, politics and world affairs. He's also the founder of GlobalEconomicCrisis.com. His latest book, "Sarah Palin Apocalypse Americana," is available at Amazon.com in a paperback and Kindle edition.
