Popular Teen Authors Come to Barnes & Noble Stonebriar Centre on November 23 in Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters

Heather L. Reid, Krissi Dallas, Victoria Scott and Mary Gray will take part in the Bookseller's Bookfair on Sat., Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. Shop Barnes & Noble that weekend and a percentage of sales will be donated to North Texas' Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Several popular teen authors will be on hand November 23, at Frisco's Barnes & Noble to sign books, answer questions from fans, take pictures and make big difference in the lives of thousands of North Texas children. At the beginning of this month, Big Brothers Big Sisters was selected as the Frisco bookseller's charity of choice for the holiday season. Big Brothers Big Sisters invites everyone in DFW to the store inside Stonebriar Centre at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 23 to meet their favorite writers and get an early start on their holiday shopping with a percentage of every net sale going to fund local mentoring initiatives. The Bookfair will feature writers Heather L. Reid, Krissi Dallas, Victoria Scott and Mary Gray.

Throughout the entire weekend (Nov. 22-Nov. 25), customers at the Frisco store can mention Big Brothers Big Sisters at checkout and 10% of their purchase will go directly to children in Collin County and across the Metroplex. Online purchases count too. When shopping at bn.com, enter the ID code 11194875 at checkout to have a percentage of the transaction donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Also at the Stonebriar Centre location, shoppers can purchase and donate a new, unused book through the end of November that will be given to a "Little" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Books from Early Reader to Young Adult are welcome and no gift is too small to make an impact.

Heather L. Reid is both American and British and has called six different cities in three different countries, home. Her strong sense of wanderlust and craving for a new adventure mean you might find her wandering the moors of her beloved Scotland, exploring haunted castles, or hiking through a magical forest in search of fairies and sprites. When she's not venturing into the unknown in her real life, she loves getting lost in the worlds of video games or curling up by the fire with good story. For now, this native Texan is back in the Lone Star State, settling down with her Scottish husband and working on the sequel to her debut novel, Pretty Dark Nothing.

Krissi Dallas loves pop music, mismatched socks, and fried chicken. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her youth minister husband, Sam, and enjoys hanging out with her quirky middle school students and building the magical and mysterious world that makes up the Phantom Island series. Krissi has been doing events and creative writing workshops in conjunction with Big Brothers Big Sisters for four years and believes whole-heartedly in the life-changing power of the mentoring relationship. Krissi also loves connecting with teens, as well as readers and writers of all ages! You can stalk her online at www.KrissiDallas.com.

Victoria Scott writes teen fiction and is represented by Agent Sarah Crowe. She's the author of the Fire & Flood series published by Scholastic, and the Dante Walker trilogy published by Entangled Teen. Victoria lives in Dallas with her husband and adores cotton candy. Visit her online at www.VictoriaScottYA.com.

Mary Gray has a fascination with all things creepy. That's why all her favorite stories usually involve panic attacks and hyperventilating. In real life, she prefers to type away on her computer, ogle over her favorite TV shows, and savor fiction. When she's not immersed in other worlds, she and her husband get their exercise by chasing after their three children. The Dollhouse Asylum is her first novel. Young readers can connect with Mary at www.marygraybooks.com

About Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring organization, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children ("Littles") with screened volunteer mentors ("Bigs") and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. The first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes Summary, released in 2012, substantiates that its mentoring programs have proven, positive academic, socio-emotional and behavioral outcomes for youth, areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college or job readiness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization's 85-year history. Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star serves more than 30,000 children, volunteers and families through 20 offices and more than 100 counties in Texas.
