Portal Site Unknown Japanese Groove Introducing Strange Festivals in Japan is Established

Civic group Unknown Groove set up portal site providing attractions of strange festivals in Japan which have been little known to foreigners with supports of local governments.

Civic group “Unknown Groove” consists of  amateur researchers of Japanese folk culture. They made up the portal site “Unknown Japanese Groove” with supports of local governments.  There are many festivals and customs in Japan, and some festivals are so famous that overseas visitor know them such as Gion Matsuri in Kyoto and Comic Festivals.

However most of the traditional festivals and customs rooted in each region are little known to foreigners and even Japanese yet. For instance, though Naked Festivals that naked men violently fight each other are very heroic and amazing, not many people come there. Because of a populations aging in countryside such traditional festivals begin to disappear. Unknown Groove wants to preserve them by showing their attractions to the all over the world with beautiful pictures and movies. When Visitors travel in Japan, you can join a festival referring to this website and communicate with the local people. They will gladly welcome you. Even if User of this site don’t have time and money to visit Japan, they will feel as if they participated in festivals for real.

It is hard to understand unfamiliar cultures, so our site provide you with enough information in the English captions. Moreover the users can search each articles by dates, locations, and categories put on the bottom of this website. Now that Unknown Groove is making promotional movies of each festivals, so more videos are also added sooner or later.
