Portrait Software Awards T-Mobile Austria 'Uplift Award', Recognizing Outstanding Achievement in Use of Incremental Modeling

T-Mobile Reduces Churn and Marketing Volumes Simultaneously with Portrait Uplift Optimizer

Portrait Software, a leading provider of customer interaction optimization software and now a part of Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), today presented Christian Reder, Marketing Analyst at T-Mobile Austria GmbH, with the Portrait Software 2010 "Uplift Award" at the Loyalty World Conference. The Uplift Award honors companies which have demonstrated innovative use of uplift modeling techniques to achieve outstanding incremental results in marketing campaigns.

T-Mobile Austria was selected as the recipient of the award for its use of uplift modeling techniques within its proactive retention programme. It showed that it was possible to better target retention campaigns to reduce churn by 2.4 percentage points and achieve a double-digit reduction in targeting volume at the same time. This new accuracy in targeting has allowed T-Mobile to focus on the profitability of saving each individual customer.

"Portrait Uplift Optimizer has automated much of the modeling process for T-Mobile," commented Christian Reder, Marketing Analyst, T-Mobile Austria GmbH. "It used to take weeks for our internal team to create a new model. Now it takes days, and this allows us to use the technique on many more campaigns. We have surpassed our results expectations for this campaign, and seeing the effectiveness of modeling on incremental gains rather than all responses, we will be expanding our use of Uplift to other areas of marketing. We appreciate this recognition of our team's work and achievement and look forward to a continued partnership with Portrait Software."

"We are delighted to honor T-Mobile with this outstanding achievement award," says Luke McKeever, CEO, Portrait Software. "Christian and his team colleagues have set a precedent with their strategic use of Portrait Uplift Optimizer and the retention results they have achieved so far this year. Christian is a dedicated analytics leader who has sought to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of T-Mobile's marketing by focusing on the true incremental impact of its campaigning - looking to target campaigns based on a prediction of lift, not just to measure lift after the campaign."

Portrait Uplift Optimizer enables companies to produce results that are above what may have been achieved with any other modeling tool and Portrait Software looks forward to announcing future winners of this competitively-fought achievement award.
